Saturday, 04 Sept - Clermont-Ferrand

Ok, we start the day with a slightly more american breakfast, scrambled eggs with ham and shallots, baguette and jam, apple juice and coffee.

We are just done by 10, so we can walk to the internet office. Our landlords have done well with the research and we get served quickly. We get a package that includes internet, tv, music, and telephone, so we buy a phone as well. The office is near a large covered market, so when we leave there, Fred goes with me to the market and we buy some salmon for supper.

We have been invited out on Sunday to a gathering where we need to bring a side dish, so we also buy some vegetables for that and then Fred goes to work and I head home with the fish.

By the time I get home, I am stiff and sore from all the walking. I clean up from breakfast, then start some music and type these last few posts - When I finish, I will meet Fred at school and try to make a transfer from our US bank to the new account here.

Then I hope to be able to post these notes. For now, I better get going.

Well, I am at school and on the internet, and am posting.  We won't have internet at home for a week to 10 days, so I will try to post occasionally from other locations.

We finally finished at school around 7:30 pm and walked home. We had bought salmon at the market this morning and had gnochii in the fridge as well. Fred cook the salmon perfectly and we dressed the gnochii with oil, toasted garlic, and parsley. We started the meal with left over gaspacho, then finished with cheese, fruit and a chocloate cookie. It was superb!

  1. You have been very busy in the few days you have been there. It makes me tired to read about your adventures.
